The Libertarian Party Politicians

The Libertarian Party is the only party that truly believes in a free society. Some of the beliefs they espouse, however, can only come about after first rectifying other problems.

One example of this is the Open Borders issue. Under a Libertarian society, we would have open borders so that law abiding people could come and go as they please. The only problem with this policy at this time is the amount of socialistic government handouts easily in the grasp of anyone, legal or otherwise, available at this time. From free lunch programs to free medical, it is just too easy for non-producing people to take from the fruits of others' labors. Many Libertarians are so staunch in their beliefs, they are unwilling to compromise to move methodically toward their goals. Most people wouldn't really care if the borders were open if they weren't paying half of their paychecks to the cost of government.

We would also have to get our military out of other people's countries. If others want to have the type and strength of economy that only a free society built, then they can mimmick our original form of government. We have strayed far from that form of government, but it is not out of our grasp, and supporting Libertarian politicans would make it all the more obtainable.

Some of the things that would be different under a libertarian society are;

  • NO FCC - since the Federal Communications Commission's job is regulating communications in the United States, there would be no need for this federal agency, since unfettered free communications requries no regulation. Regulated communications is not free speech.
  • True Property Rights - With property tax, building codes and zoning laws we do not really own our property. We simply lease it from the government. There would be no more eminent domain, no more property tax, no more building codes.
  • Right to Privacy - No more warrants issued to search the belongings of innocent individuals just to see what they might have. No encryption key bank the government would use to invade the privacy of law abiding individuals, no inspection of bank accounts by government, no road blocks to "check for intoxication" when there is no probable cause to stop the individual, and one of the big ones, no more socialist security number to indentify Americans.
  • No more regulations or restrictions on our Right to Bear Arms. The only real reason the government has to regulate guns is to gradually take them to take our freedom. An armed society is a pilot society. Is our society now polite? I think not.
  • No more government debt. Government debt is debt passed on to tax payers without their consent.
  • No More Corporate Welfare - Private companies should not get tax payer money to start private business or to bail out business should it have financial issues.
  • No more War on Drugs - which is a war on the American People and costs more in money and loss of freedom than anything else the government does.

There are a few more planks of importance you should read. The easiest way to remember what Libertarians stand for is to imagine a society in which you can live your life anyway you see fit so long as you do not infringe on those same rights of others.

The Libertarian Party politicians are the only party politicains not trying to force or cease an action change in "we the people". They believe the government's only responsibility is to protect our individual freedoms as outlined in the US Constitution. Sounds good to me!
